At 4:00pm, let the music begin! Get ready for an amazing evening of jazz hosted by James Janisse, and starring Martha Taylor LaCroix. She will be joined by an all-star band featuring Nolan Shaheed, Rick Hills, Quentin Dennard, Tony Dumas.

The smooth, resonating voice and in-depth knowledge of jazz has earned James Janisse the role and respect as one of the most prominent MC’s and announcers for live jazz and blues events in Southern California.
From the festival and club scene to corporate voiceovers, if it’s related to jazz and blues, he’s regarded as a master at the microphone live or in studio. He developed a loyal fan base during his tenure as an on-air personality with radio station KKJZ, 88.1FM from 1992 to 2006.
Martha Taylor LaCroix
Martha Taylor LaCroix began her music career as a vocalist with the Dick Stabile Orchestra, the former musical director for Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. She later joined the New Orleans Opera Company as a background singer for Lee Dorcey and Allen Toussaint, and her first album recorded, “Introducing Marti Lynn,” was produced by Wardell Quezergue, R&B hit maker of “Mr. Big Stuff.”
In addition to being founder of the Holiday Celebration Club, she presently works as an entertainer/recording artist specializing in jazz. She was among the honorees receiving the Jazz LivingLegend Award in 2016.
As Nolan Smith, he began his musical career in 1974, rising to be a top studio musician. He was musical director for Marvin Gaye, lead trumpet with Count Basie and has an extensive resume of other acts he has worked with including: Natalie Cole,
When speaking of Rick Hills, one thing stands out- singers love Rick Hills on piano! Why? He can play in any key, has a huge musical repertoire, and shows classy restraint when supporting vocalists through a musical interlude. He is one of the most requested musicians of our time. Quentin Dennard started his career in the late 1960s as session drummer for Motown Records. He has performed with a multitude of music legends including Aretha Franklin, Roy Ayers, Dionne Warwick, B.B. King, Issac Hayes, Lamont Dozier, Jermaine Jackson, The Originals, Billy Mitchell, Keb Mo, and The Temptations.
Tony Dumas began playing professionally with organist Johnny Hammond Smith, then went on to play with Freddie Hubbard. He has toured, played and recorded with Herbie Hancock, Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan, Joe Williams, Chick Corea, Etta James, Mariah Carey, Bill Cosby, Patrice Rushen, and many more.
