Liz Hinlein is an award winning director and cinematographer. Hinlein received her BFA from NVU Tisch School of the Arts and her MFA from the American Film Institute.
Recently she has won Best of the Festival, the Audience Award and Best Cinematography for her feature film, Other People’s Children, which is currently playing at film festivals around the world. The film features Alison Sudol (Transparent), Alexandra Breckenridge (The Walking Dead), Michael Mosley (Hot Pursuit) and Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill).
She has traveled the world shooting commercials and films for dove, Revlon, Maybelline, Olay, Oral B, Woolite, Visine, Gillette, and Nivea among others. She has shot and directed rockumentaries, music videos, features, web series and documentaries. Working with talent such as Britney Spears, Jonathan Tucker, Mary J. Blige, Halle Berry, Jennie garth, Jennifer Esposito, Cindy Blackman and Nona Hendrix.
In the past year she was selected as one of the four DGA directors for the Viacom Media Network director diversity program and one of the fifteen directors out of over 250 for the Sony Pictures Television diverse directors program.
She directed Juiced, a one-act play featured at the Glo festival at the Santa Monica Playhouse, and her photography was the featured artwork for the theatrical extravaganza, the pearl show, which premiered at Lincoln Center in August 2015.
Liz is currently developing two feature films and a comedic web series.
